From the Publisher:
Paradise, blooded daughter of the king’s First Advisor, is ready to break free from the restrictive life of an aristocratic female. Her strategy? Join the Black Dagger Brotherhood’s training center program and learn to fight for herself, think for herself…be herself. It’s a good plan, until everything goes wrong. The schooling is unfathomably difficult, the other recruits feel more like enemies than allies, and it’s very clear that the Brother in charge, Butch O’Neal, a.k.a. the Dhestroyer, is having serious problems in his own life.

And that’s before she falls in love with a fellow classmate. Craeg, a common civilian, is nothing her father would ever want for her, but everything she could ask for in a male. As an act of violence threatens to tear apart the entire program, and the erotic pull between them grows irresistible, Paradise is tested in ways she never anticipated—and left wondering whether she’s strong enough to claim her own power…on the field, and off.

Sam’s Thoughts: J.R Ward does it again, and I’m so happy! Fantasy + romance= MUST READ.
WARNING: You need to be prepared for the intensity of this book- and the love scenes, they are not for the faint of heart. J.R Ward is a master at writing and no less amazing when she describes the emotional and physical attachments the lead characters share.

I highly suggest, if you want to read this book {series}, you should read the previous books from BDB, to understand the brothers and their mission- you need the background. They are well written and just as intense, enjoy them, love them and be glad that I recommended you read them!

Ward’s previous series with the Black Dagger Brotherhood- whoa. Am I expecting the same awesomeness from this spin-off series? ABSOLUTELY!!! This book did not disappoint- in the least.
I was rooting for Paradise {her strength and her desire to be her with no labels}, and Ward kept me guessing through out the book. I wanted Craeg & Paradise together- their build up of passion and their togetherness as trainees was fantastic. I’m also so glad we caught up with Butch and Marissa {from the previous BDB series}- a needed catch up. There’s a struggle there and a growth in their relationship that kept me wanting to know what happens and needing their relationship to make it through the tests.
There’s action which is thoroughly fascinating, and there’s sex and sexy, which is a must and leaves you wanting more.

I want to read more about the rest of the trainees, and get to know Paradise & Craeg as the books progress. I expect more awesome from Ward in this series, and I have no doubt- we’ll get it!!!

Let me know what you thought!
